Join the Outdoor Access Trust for Scotland as a full-time Car Park and Toilet Facility Supervisor at the stunning Fairy Pools, Glenbrittle, Isle Of Skye, one of the busiest visitor destinations on the island.
Embrace a pivotal role with a salary range of £25,772 to £26,784 per annum (Tech G).
As Facility Supervisor, you will work closely with the Fairy Pools Facility Manager, playing a vital role in the day-to-day operations of a busy car park. Your focus will encompass supervising casual/seasonal staff and maintaining the cleanliness of the car park, toilets, and facilities. You will ensure equipment and infrastructure are in top condition, manage supplies, adhere to health and safety standards, and foster positive relationships with stakeholders and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the running of the car park is smooth and efficient, that the entrance and exits are clear, and the toilet building is kept clean, tidy and well stocked and supplied.
- Ensure compliance with Statutory Framework including for Health and Safety and Environment
- Line Manage Casual/Seasonal Staff
- Meet and greet customers, and be able to make recommendations on how to enjoy the site, and provide information on other local visitor attractions.
- Ensure all car parking spaces are being used effectively, and that ticket machines are working properly
- Liaise with Minginish Community Hall Association, land managers and public bodies
- Liaise with Skye Mountain Rescue Team and the Police on emergency/rescue procedures
Desired Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in assessing and managing risks and statutory requirements.
- Previous experience in staff supervision and ensuring work standards.
- Self-organiser, proactive and a problem solver.
- Capability in managing supplies and procurement.
- First Aid qualification or willingness and ability to obtain it within six months of starting the role.
- Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to seasonal work hours.
Work Schedule:
- 36 hours per week, mainly between 0800 – 1800, with flexibility for shorter hours in winter and longer hours in peak seasons.
- 36 days of annual leave, including public holidays.
