Welcome to Eva Kupska, OATS’ new Access Volunteer Coordinator

The Outdoor Access Trust for Scotland (OATS) is delighted to welcome Eva Kupska to the team. As our new part-time Access Volunteer Coordinator, Eva will lead our increasingly popular annual path maintenance volunteer programme and Adopt a Path scheme throughout the Cairngorms National Park and locations across Scotland. A key focus of this role will be to collaborate with partners, current and new, to maximise the development and delivery of high-quality access and volunteering opportunities for the charity.

Eva has always been attracted to the outdoors and outdoor conservation making every effort to develop her skills and experience in mountain path maintenance and conservation. She has completed an HNC Wildlife and Conservation Management course at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and has been one of our regular and extremely valued path maintenance volunteers since 2022. Eva is also a mountain path adoptee on our Adopt A Path scheme.

Eva Kupska said: ‘I am thrilled to be part of the OATS team, combining my love for the natural environment with my dedication to making a difference in conservation.”

As a keen mountain biker, Eva gained MTB Leader qualifications in 2016 and now regularly leads mountain bike groups in various outdoor environments. Eva also enjoys working at numerous cycling events and participating in improving and maintaining local mountain bike trails and path networks.

Eva is originally from the Czech Republic. In 2005, she moved to the UK and worked with horses in England (and Greece) before heading to Scotland in 2008 where she is now very settled. She is based just outside Blairgowrie in Perthshire, with easy access to the great outdoors. She enjoys being out in the hills in all sorts of weather and conditions and finds satisfaction in long-distance and challenging adventures, the so called ‘type 2 fun’ activities.

With a degree in Visual Design and Communication from Perth College UHI, a previous managerial position in a coffee roastery, and a passion for mountaineering, Eva brings a strong blend of experience from various sectors to this role.
