Following an extensive Covid-19 compliant risk assessment, OATS are delighted to announce a limited volunteer path maintenance programme over the next four months at a number of locations in the Cairngorms and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Parks, as part of their Mountains and The People Project (TMTP), the biggest mountain footpath project ever undertaken in the UK which is nearing completion.

This new volunteer path maintenance programme; mostly drainage checks and clearing with minor path repairs, that will run every Wednesday from 09 September to 02 December 2020 (excluding 30 September), is being run by Angus Turner, one of Scotland’s leading mountain path builders.

Please note: Numbers are limited. As a result of Covid-19 restrictions, volunteers from only four households will be allowed on each volunteering day. This is also subject to change.

In addition to the usual outdoor clothing and boots, all volunteers will have to bring their own face covering, work gloves, hand sanitiser and lunch, refreshments and snacks.
