27 Nov Fairy Pools access road has reopend, with tarmacking works still to be completed

The Fairy Pools car park access road (C1237 Merkadale – Glen Brittle Road) on the Isle of Skye has reopened after remedial and passing place extension works have been carried out.

However, the resurfacing works (tarmacking) have still to be completed as a result of recent poor weather. We understand that the road may be closed again to all but essential local access (during amnesties) while this work is being carried out.

We will update the website news page as soon as we have more details.

OATS will continue to work with partners to help improve traffic flows for the benefit of residents and the 200,000 annual visitors who use the road and the car park.  We will continue to use the Fairy Pools car park income to provide direct financial support to the local community, employment, and investment in the Fairy Pools and other popular Skye sites.
