Three phases of the Speyside Way extension between Aviemore and Kincraig have been completed. The first phase started with the construction of an aerial mast bridge over the Allt na Criche burn on Kinrara Estate. Phase two saw the first sections of path construction on Kinrara and Dalraddy Estates and the installation of a new boardwalk and aerial mast bridge crossing the Allt Dibheach burn.
Phase three culminated with the completion of the route to Kincraig linking up the final sections starting at the roadside just south of Aviemore; a section on Kinrara Estate to Dalraddy and a section above the River Spey from Speybank to Kincraig through Alvie Estate and Dunachton Estate. 9km of aggregate path work at 2m width.
The final phases will develop a further 7.5km of the route between Kincraig and Kingussie when the Speyside Way Extension reaches its final objective at Ruthven Barracks.
