This is a lovely small but steep climb out of the Lochside village of Balmaha offering great views over Loch Lomond over to Ben Lomond and beyond. You do not need to go to the top to get the views. All the islands of Loch Lomond are set before you. Conic is very popular as it is right on the West Highland Way but is a great introduction to hill walking as it is a couple of hours round trip, offers enough of a climb to feel that you have made the effort for the rewards and back down at Balmaha there is a pub, coffee shop and village store. Whilst it may not be the biggest or most challenging of hill paths you get to meet many families and young people who along with the stream of West Highland Way walkers make this a really sociable walk.
