This popular path accessed via Lairig an Laoigh from Glenmore to the summit of Bynack More crosses slowly ascending, open moorland. The pyramidal Bynack More sits somewhat apart from the other high mountains of the Cairngorms and as such it is visible from much of Moray with corresponding expansive views from the summit. There is also Interesting geology in the great tors of the Barns of Bynack down the east side of the ridge.
The works on Bynack More consist of “light touch techniques” and pre-emptive works where the team are subtly moving boulders and landscaping to define and create a sustainable path surface. The results have been excellent with almost instant results with walkers now tending to stick to the defined lines, enabling vegetation to recover as a result.
